Since my earliest memory of me as a child, my grandfather and father, Joseph and David Pardo, have both continually awakened me to their precious and skillful mastery. And thus, very early on, I decided to prolong their exceptional experience; binding and restoring works and objects which didn’t finish telling their story. This craftsmanship was transmitted from father to son for three generations: Bringing esteemed books and works back to life. By virtue of the mastery of bookbinding, my family (the Pardo family) has perpetuated the great knowledge that each of these works contain.
From simple or administrative binding to art books, our profession must combine traditional and innovative techniques, sensitivity, caution and skills to meet the expectations of our customers. Any book or document can be bound and taken care of according to the importance you give to it, without ever being deprived of our passion and our rigorous attention!
In our workshop in Strasbourg, we cultivate the passion for restoring, preserving and embellishing your works, and for bookbinding in general: Adding adornments, putting the endpapers at the right placement, gilding, printing in typography and illumination, all of which are among our set of skills and tools. The atelier is equipped with high-definition equipment, and we use modern tools and technology as well as traditional and ancient techniques, a combination which often gives remarkable and exceptional results.
Atelier du Relieure in Strasbourg has been committed to creating high-quality works for more than five decades and thus it didn’t take long for it to be recognized by the prestigious EPV (guarantee of excellence given by the French INMA: National Institute of Art Professions).
